We are proud to feature Taiya's artwork 'A Wall Gone AWOL' in our branding. As the first artist to get onboard Taiya has been an integral part of the adventure, she brings a fantastic positive energy to everything she does.

About me

A Sydney based artist, I've been drawing and painting as long as I can remember. Most of my work originates from the endless doodling that I did in textbooks during school.

I love painting and creating because it’s my favourite form of expression. Its also an opportunity to free the mind, letting it be temporarily Absent With-Out Leave – hence AWOLCREATIONS.

A Wall Gone AWOL was painted in August 2015 – AWOLCREATIONS (Taiya) explained the background behind the piece: "I’ve been going to Bondi since I was a little kid. Walking along the wall and seeing all the art was one of my favourite things to do. This is what inspired me to apply for a space. My piece is called ‘A wall gone AWOL.’ I painted it in August 2015 using paints and posca pens for the details. I didn’t refer to anything as I painted it, I simply made it up as I went along."

The piece was super-popular for the 2015-2016 summer season.

"The wall depicts freedom and unplanned expression. It mirrors life and our thoughts in a way that it may not always make sense but fits well together and works out in the end."
